Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, or NAD+, is the oxidized form of NADH and one of the most essential molecules in the body, as it facilitates cellular respiration. Its main biological function is to transport energy within the cell, to the extracellular space, and between cells.
The primary function of NAD+ is the transport of electrons between various intracellular biochemical reactions and, in some cases, even in the extracellular space. This is what makes these reactions possible and, at the mitochondrial level, results in cell regeneration, improved cell function, and DNA repair.
