Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide and a synthetic ghrelin mimetic (acting as a ghrelin agonist) with a strong capacity for releasing growth hormone (GH). By mimicking ghrelin and binding to its receptors (GH secretagogue receptors) in the brain, it stimulates the release of GH from the pituitary gland, leading to an increase in plasma GH levels, as well as levels in the genitourinary system, lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, and pancreas.
What differentiates ipamorelin from other growth hormone-releasing peptides is that it stimulates GH in a very similar way to growth hormone-releasing hormone.
